The death of two women

An article about the death of a woman one day in 1997 put the front of newspapers all over the world. At that time, the world was full of interesting gossip about the death of a woman. She had a lover, rather than a relationship with her husband and there's someone behind her death, etc

And just a few days later, an article about another woman's death covered the front of newspapers around the world. But this time, the reaction of the world was different. The whole world mourned and mourned her death. How wonderful she has been all her life, how many people are in mourning, etc.

Although the year of birth is different, there are  two women who die in the same year. One was a British Crown Princess and the other was an Indian nun.
Diana: Born in 1961 and died August 31, 1997.
Mother Teresa: Born in 1910, died September 5, 1997.

As the lives of the two women were in contrast, death was also in contrast.
Diana died in a car accident amid incessant gossip, but Mother Teresa died in the midst of a natural death.

What is the difference between the two?
One tried to find own life, and the other tried constantly to abandon own life.
We don't know where did each person go after death.
But we know who was happy and was satisfied when she lived.

Diana lived a troubled and unhappy life, but Mother Teresa lived an elevated life full of spirituality. Isn't this the difference between a self-seeking life and a self-abandoning life.

Many people are busy looking for their lives. When you go to the bookstore, you'll find a lot of books about how to find yourself. All kinds of self-improvement books and psychological books explain how to find yourself.

But is it found to find yourself? No. I don't know how many people have been happy to get psychological counseling with such books. Perhaps, the more you try to find yourself, the harder it is to find yourself.

Aristotle said that humans are social animals. Social means living in relationships with others. Living in a relationship with others implies that you are not grasping yourself, but giving it away. How can a good society be achieved without abandoning itself?

The wedding of Diana and Prince Charles was broadcast live worldwide. I also remember watching the broadcast on TV. Although she married with the envy of the people of the world, Diana was unable to adapt to life in the royal palace and had to spend unhappy days. As a result, she naturally became enthusiastic about external activities. Perhaps, the royal palace and the British people would have disapproved of Diana. So she had to suffer from all kinds of rumors before she died. What an unfortunate life. Diana would have needed a breakthrough in such a life. As a result, she kept trying to go outside, and all kinds of rumors followed her constantly.

On the other hand, Mother Teresa dedicated herself entirely to others.
She had lived whole life caring for orphans since she was young.
It would have been hard, but it would have been worth it.
You can feel the meaning of life when you work for others rather than for yourself.

We can't keep up with Mother Teresa's life, but if we accept even part of her spirit, our lives will be more enriched and we will find spiritual happiness.
